ReadOn 21 June, approximately 180 students and their teachers embarked on a full day of maths at the University of Nottingham for our annual Core Maths Conference. This is the second year this event has run after popular demand from its first run through in 2018.
ReadIn May, 142 teams of Year 8 and 9 students attended our Live Online Inter-School Maths Competition.
ReadCore Maths entries have more than doubled in the East Midlands over the last four years, and the number of institutions offering the subject has increased from 40 to over 70.
ReadDuring the past academic year, the AMSP and Maths Hubs have worked in collaboration on three Level 3 Work Groups: Supporting Core Maths, Embedding A level Technology and Developing A level Pedagogy.
ReadCore Maths is the new level 3 qualification for students who achieved at least a Grade 4 (formerly a Grade C) at GCSE mathematics and wish to develop their number and statistics skills so they may apply these in study, work and everyday life.
ReadRecently we held another of our online Moving on with Maths events. We’ve previously held one of these events with the University of Nottingham and the University of Lincoln but, this time, we were joined by staff from Loughborough University and the University of Northampton.
ReadAfter nearly two years of no face-to-face enrichment, the AMSP’s Maths Feasts are back with a vengeance! This very popular Year 10 event was delivered to schools in the Gainsborough, Grimsby and Grantham area, and was received with great anticipation and vigour.
