We are pleased to announce that applications are open for our Preparing to Teach Core Maths course. Whether you are about to start teaching Core Maths or have recently started, this comprehensive course will help you build the confidence and skills you need to succeed in teaching the course.
Course Overview
Finding out that you will be teaching Core Maths for the first time can feel overwhelming. As a new teacher, you may be asking yourself where to find the right resources, how to select activities that will engage and motivate your students, and how to prepare your students effectively for assessments. These are just some of the questions that our Preparing to Teach Core Maths course will help to address.
This live, online professional development course is designed specifically for teachers who are new to teaching Core Maths. Throughout the course, you will engage in interactive sessions that will provide practical strategies and insights on key topics. You’ll cover topics including how to plan lessons, source high-quality resources, select and deliver engaging activities, and prepare students for assessments. We’ll also explore strategies for recruiting and maintaining a strong Core Maths cohort.
Course Structure
The course will be delivered over four weekly, live online sessions, each lasting around 90 minutes. These sessions will combine expert guidance with interactive discussions, giving you the chance to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from like-minded teachers. This structure ensures that, by the end of the course, you will feel well-prepared to teach Core Maths and manage a successful programme.
