Overview
Help your students see where maths can take them through an interactive careers panel featuring people working in different roles.
Which Career? is an online enrichment event for secondary students, particularly those in Years 9-11 who would benefit from studying level 3 mathematics after GCSE. Students will hear from three guest speakers, who will share how they use maths in their careers and answer questions from students.
Each event features different guests, so students can attend more than once and hear from a range of people and career pathways.
The events will be recorded, and the recording will be shared with schools that are engaged with the AMSP through the Higher Level Maths Achievement programme and/or the Girls’ Progression Programme only. Individual students will not be identified.
Which Career? events will support your school in working towards DfE Enrichment Benchmarks 1, 2, 6 and 7 and Gatsby Careers Benchmarks 4 and 5.
1 online session
This 45-minute online session includes opportunities for students to interact with the panellists and ask questions about their careers, experiences and use of maths.
Teachers can stream the session into a classroom and facilitate it. We will send joining instructions, including details of the panellists, approximately one week before the event, to help teachers and students prepare questions.

The event is for Year 10 and 11 students who would benefit from studying level 3 mathematics after GCSE, though you may want to consider other students within your school or college.
The DfE provides funding so that places for this session are free to state-funded schools and colleges in England. We do not accept other establishments for this event.
We offer a limited number of places on this course, so we encourage you to apply early.
No. Only teachers will be able to log in to this event.
To maximise your students’ engagement, use the link we send to live-stream the event into individual classrooms. This approach lets you manage your students’ questions for the panellists. Multiple teachers at the same school can apply, so several classes can attend at the same time.
No. We hold the events on Zoom and, for safeguarding reasons, do not enable cameras or microphones. All communication takes place via the Q&A function or Mentimeter (we will include details in the Joining Instructions).
