Have you accessed our Why Study Maths? resources yet?
We’ve updated our free-to-use Why Study Maths? resources for 2024! These are perfect for use at your school’s open days or evenings. They highlight the importance of studying maths after GCSE and promote advanced maths qualifications and pathways to students and parents.
Why Study Maths Presentation
The Why Study Maths? presentation outlines the post-16 and post-18 options available to students and provides information on the benefits of taking such qualifications. The resource is flexible too; you can add or remove slides to suit the needs of your school or college.
This resource is designed to engage not only students but also parents. It offers clear insights into the value of post-16 maths study to future career and higher education pathways. Ultimately, it’s a great way to showcase how maths can open doors to various fields, from animation to zoology and everything in between.
When should I use it?
Teachers often find this presentation ideal as a slideshow for open days or evenings to promote post-16 maths qualifications to students and parents. It can also be reduced to a few key slides and used in an assembly or talk.
Extended Open Evening Video
This year, we’d also like to highlight our extended open evening video as part of the WHY MATHS Video Collection. Within this video, you’ll hear from various young people about what they chose to study after GCSE and where it has led them. The video features snippets from a variety of our Why Maths videos. It’ll provide you with additional information on each of the different post-16 maths qualifications. This is another excellent resource to highlight the importance of studying maths further at events like open days or evenings.
