Programme Overview
The NCETM, Maths Hubs and the AMSP work together to provide a seamless professional development offer for teachers of maths. The Maths Hub Work Groups and Programmes are available across England, supporting teachers to develop specialist knowledge, strengthen pedagogy and collaborate with colleagues from local schools and colleges.
- Choose from three level 3 maths programmes: New to Teaching Core Maths, Developing Core Maths Pedagogy, and Developing A level Pedagogy.
- Collaborate with teachers from local schools and colleges to discuss, plan, trial and evaluate teaching approaches.
- Build confidence, deepen subject knowledge and support students’ progression in Core Maths and A level Mathematics.

Developing A level Pedagogy Work Group
Provides national support for the development of A level Mathematics teaching, helping participants enhance students’ conceptual understanding and develop as leaders of A level teaching professional development in their school or college.

Developing Core Maths Pedagogy Work Group
Designed for experienced and developing teachers of Core Maths who are at least in their second year of teaching the qualification. These Work Groups focus on collaborative discussion, planning, trialling ideas between sessions and evaluation.

New to Teaching Core Maths Programme
Supports teachers in their first two years of teaching Core Maths who are teaching the qualification. The programme helps participants develop specialist knowledge and increase confidence in teaching Core Maths.
